Here is the second volume of Ryan and Ale's wedding. The first one is here, in case you care to see... These pictures aren't terrific, but you can get an idea of what the album looks like. Click on the images to make them bigger if you like.
Ale told me colors and gave the okay for the design that I came up with. We made them on the dining room table. We had several compliments on the invitations...

another thing we made ourselves--the programs.
Rather than a guest book, I made a few of these sheets for people to sign on. They are on a standard 12X12 scrapbook cardstock sheet, so fit perfectly in the album!

Another Batch of Journals

Some of these journals have been sitting around in the craft room gathering dust for a couple of months waiting to be finished, but a special order prompted me to get busy and "git 'er dun."

This first one was the special order. The request was for an eggplant purple and lime green design with hints of gold and dark brown. I rifled through the paper archives and located this morning glory paper and some old Basic Gray. The chipboard accent was just plain so I painted it brown, then spritzed it with glimmer mist. It is subtle, but still a little sparkle catches the light. I used the same brown paint and mist on the brad in the flower center, but most of the nuance was lost there--too small I guess. I used some ancient (in the scrapbooking world, anything older than a couple of years is ancient!) stickers for the words on the cover. The buyer was very pleased with the result--and that is what matters!
This next one is my favorite of the bunch. The text says, "For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ." The wooden leaves are from the beads hanging in my entry hall sidelights, and the flower, well, it is just perfect!
A few weeks ago, Hobby Lobby had all their paper on sale 1/2 price. This company is one of my favorites, and for the price, I just couldn't resist. There were three sheets of each design, making it ideal for journal covering. This one is very simple looking, although it was rather time consuming to cut out the bird. No words on the cover would make it ideal for any purpose, and I even added a book mark ribbon to it.
This one is very cheery. Paper cut out flowers rest behind the text box, which is printed on vellum overlaid on two different pieces of green paper. I like the colors of this one together.
When I was covering these journals several months ago, I came across several sheets of this paper, and decided it would make a nice journal. I chose the I Corinthians 13 passage about love for the cover. It is printed on vellum and adorned with a ribbon. I scuffed and covered the two little painted chipboard hearts with some of the paper, and I thought it turned out pretty cute.
This last one is another of my favorites. I like the colors, but more I like the message on the cover. "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free." And He whom the son sets free is free indeed!!
These journals are winging their way to Tucson for my sister to sell for me. She has put together a brochure about using journaling to write new truths on your heart. If these can be instrumental in helping people to overcome faulty core values and bring them into an abundant life in Christ, every moment I spent creating them will have been worth the effort!
