Another New Direction?

The studio has been gathering dust for the past several weeks.  I have all but abandoned my paper crafts and the little bit of art I have done is focused on my art journal and learning to use Luminarte's Twinkling H2O's.

This is not finished yet, but it was my first attempt at anything like it. I added some Smooch and Glimmer mists over the whole thing as well as Stickles glitter to the center markings, but I think I need to add some bold black lines around the outside of each element. Then maybe I can go back and add more depth to the petals.
Today I signed up for another class, this one using Silks acrylic paints.  I can't really say I did the other class much justice, although I have had a ball playing with the product and I think I needed to enroll in the class to prompt me to purchase it. I am hoping to get a bit more involved with the instructions of this new class, but even if I don't I am not too concerned.
I liked how the lines came out on the top section.  The flowers on the left are done with my template and some Silks acrylic glaze.  I applied the lemongrass wash all over the paper, then used the glaze and template.  Once it dried, I added other color to that section which was resisted by the acrylic. I may need to invest in more templates!
This used the template, but not the silks.  I just used other colors of twinks to make the shapes stand out.  I think this page needed much more done to it, but I also wanted to leave some space for writing. Perhaps I will stop worrying about the text and just focus on the "art" for a while.
The things I love about the "twinks" are all present in the Silks, but they have the added benefit of a wide variety of surfaces to which they might be applied--unlike the twinks which unfortunately flake off of anything other than paper.  I know this because I have tried. :)
