Some Thank You Cards and Bugs

 The ATC is for a swap called the Jitterbug, and is supposed to feature bugs on it somewhere. My piece is called Beneficial Bugs.  The other one is just like this except it used the word beneficial and the definition for it.

AND I made a set of Thank You cards for my daughter whose birthday just passed...

 Here is the set of four.  I also decorated the kraft envelopes a bit... and added seed packet forever stamps--gotta keep the whole theme going!

 Close ups of a couple of the cards. I really had a hard time giving these up! I am going to buy more of those die cuts. They are by K and Co. and are some of the prettiest die cuts I have ever seen!  Bugs, flowers, and some beautiful copper embossed clear frames. The whole set is just stunning.

The papers I used for the cards is old stuff by Daisy D's from a set called Gypsy Harvest.

Digging Out the QuicKutz

For the most part I am too lazy to mess with making die cuts, especially those that require several different cuts on different pieces of paper, but I do have a HUGE collection of scraps, and there is nothing that is quite like little cut outs on a card.  I am part of a private swap on Swap Bot with someone who loves dogs, so I made this little card to put with her goodies.

A sudden spate of muse action drove me to the studio this past week.  Eighteen greeting cards (mostly Thank you) and seven gift card tins are the result so far.

I used up all my purple scraps. :)

Cleaning Unveils Treasures...

Sometimes I keep things that I can reuse in another project. Today I cleaned out my craft room closet and sorted through a few drawers and boxes. The room looks MUCH better, and I uncovered all sorts of things--some I didn't even realize I had! Most of these cards have recycled components, or they were very plain cards that never were used or sold.
Thinking of You--started out as a 5X7 card from a class about five years ago. I cut it down and put it on a 4.25X5.5 card base, then added flowers and bling. Voila! A new card!
Square "HI" card -- I added the flower and changed the whole look!
This card is actually parts of two reclaimed cards. The card is a single sheet, and the part that you write on slides out of the scalloped envelope. Despite its pink and lime green colors, it really is a Christmas card. :)

Morning Glory Thank You-- This was from scraps and a sticker I found that I had forgotten about.
Poinsettia Christmas-- Another plain card I found that needed some dressing up. A couple of flowers and it looks like a new design!

Baby card for a new great niece
Birthday card using a pocket I made with a stamp and glittery embossing powder. The sentiment is stamped with white stazon ink.
Another Birthday card, main embellishment is flowers with wooden leaves that came from a string of leaves I cut from those hanging in my livingroom.

Misc. Cards

This card is intended to be used for Mother's Day.  I might add "Mom" to the front, but I hated to mess with the design and detract from the cute 3D embellishment.
Just blank inside, would make a nice thank you note or thinking of you.  I can personalize it if someone wants that, but I like it just as it is, too.
While rummaging through my metal embellishments box, I came across these frame embellishments.  There are many companies represented in the manufacturing of this card, American Crafts, My Mind's Eye, Scrapworks, K&Co., Making Memories and Bazzill--and that doesn't include the three types of adhesive!

Special Order Cards

These cards were all special ordered, so they are not for sale, but I wanted to post photos, anyway so you could see other work I have done in case you would like something similar. I don't, as a general rule, duplicate my work, primarily because I often use paper that is no longer available, but also because I like the idea that each of my creations is unique--just like the recipient.

This is a 5X5 square card. These are a little more expensive because they use more paper, and the envelopes are more costly to purchase.

This card is 5X7. I had to go to a larger card to accommodate the golf-bag die cut, which was the element around which I designed the card.

I think I may have posted photos of this before. I still think it's a pretty cool card! The candy wrappers are adhered to chipboard, then mounted onto the card. Inside reads, Wishing you a bliss-filled birthday.
